First steps

Creating a database of every project in Cosmo City is a massive task - with many organisations doing loads of different projects.

The first step we have taken was to create a list of organisations, contact people and details showing which of the following areas each organisation works in:

Arts & Culture, Business development & Job Creation, Children, Education, Health, Social Support, Spiritual, Sport and Youth.

Some of these overlap, but we'll work towards clarifying the categories as we go along.

What about the original questions we answered?

Although we thought of it as a good starting point, we've since realised that it is almost impossible to compile a structured database if all of us use our own words to list what we do. The new process will hopefully result in a useful, structured database - facilitating the building of relationships and partnerships for the benefit of our community.

What to do before the next meeting

We identified a co-ordinator for each of the categories whom we've asked to work towards further defining the projects within that category (shown on the last line of the database).

They will contact all of us to make sure as much as possible is done before our next meeting on 18 April 2008. This is just to complete the database - please still continue to meet with others to discuss possible partnerships.
